Payroll and Benefits Manager paying up to $85K for a rapidly growing corporation in the Boca Raton area. This position will be responsible for performing functions for the payroll and benefits activities within the company. The Payroll & Benefits Manager will develop, implement and continuously assesses processes to support the efficient administration of payroll and benefits.

This is a DIRECT HIRE position and is available IMMEDIATELY!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process weekly and semi-monthly multi-state payroll
  • Work with payroll vendor to register additional state and local jurisdictions as required
  • Ensure proper tax treatment, accounting, and disposition of with-holdings, such as taxes, deductions for benefits, charitable contributions, and retirement contributions, other savings, etc.
  • Calculate off-cycle payments (terminations, retro pay, etc.)
  • Manage the payroll accounting process for all corporate, retail store promptly and consistent with established accounting service levels
  • Partner with Finance on payroll related reporting and audit processes
  • Ensure all journal entries related to payroll, payroll taxes and benefits is accurately recorded to the general ledger
  • Review and manage the payroll accounting function by proposing enhancement/improvement of accounting procedures
  • Audit and reconcile benefit invoices to be able to process timely
  • Manage and reconcile payroll accounting data to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Maintain relationships with 3rd party providers and ensure data exchanges are monitored and executed with accuracy and timeliness
  • Review reconciliations as well as completing the sign off reporting every month
  • Promptly provide general ledger accruals or other transactions
  • Mitigate accounting issues and recommend corrective action to ensure compliance with GAAP
  • Manage special projects in support of various corporate initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) Human Resources, Finance, Accounting or Business
  • 3-5 years of recent experience in payroll, benefit, and accounting with increasing levels of responsibility including management of payroll and benefits
  • Multi-location employee payroll and benefits management and processing experience
  • Proven ability to work with all levels of management and foster relationships with financial and operational personnel
  • Must be able to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and organize workload to meet organizational timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office Suite including Excel
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Excellent attention to detail and judgment in decision-making
  • High level of customer service; ability to understand employee’s needs & deliver exceptional experiences
